May be that's why the French language has a wide range of words describing every piece of clothing in their every cut and styles. The same can be said with food, which is also a French specialty. Every piece of bread, cheese and other food has a name per kind or shape. 4)The French culture is old, very old. It was a time when people were born, lived and died in the same city, even the same village. This is why almost every city and village in France used to have their own dialect. Today, of course, dialects are gone with the last people able to speak them, however, still, each region has kept a very different accent, sometimes even different words are still used and understood only in the region they are spoken. For example, the slang word for "a male child" is "gamin" in Paris and "gone" in Lyon. 5)French culture is pretty heavy on common slang. On one hand, French people are very stylish on the other hand they use a lot of common slang language when they converse among family and friends. Even the movies reflect that that slang a lot. In the past, people used to speak according to their social rank, so to speak; nowadays, everyone seems to have adopted a more relaxed and cool language that everyone shares, understands and can relate to.
